Country Vintage Wedding / Nina & Patrick

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

Want a vintage style, shabby chic wedding in the English Countryside? Then you need a lovely Aunt and Uncle like Nina’s who own a beautiful sprawling manor house with plenty of room for a marquee and some quirky ramshackle outbuildings. As Nina and Patrick live in Germany, they left most of their wedding planning to the fabulous Savoir Weddings who also did an amazing job decorating the venue. Our approach to Bramble Park was slightly hairy as we encountered a vintage motorbike rally in a country lane. Once there, things were looking pretty magical as the Marquee was filled with country flowers in old bottles, floral lampshades and vintage lace tablecloths. The ceremony was over at the Archbishop’s palace in Maidstone and we stopped off on the way back in a stunning poppy field with a great view of the Kent countryside. We also had fun in the grounds, which provided an amazing backdrop for the photography. Afternoon tea was followed by an acoustic set by the Groom’s Dad who had fronted sixties band The Flowerpot Men. It was a great wedding and Nina and Patrick who are childhood sweethearts, made us very welcome.

Vintage Wedding / Charlotte & Tristan’s Wedding at Combe Bank School

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

On Saturday, Amy and I photographed a gorgeous Vintage inspired wedding at the elegant Combe Bank School near Seven Oaks in Kent. We started coverage by photographing Charlotte’s stunning vintage inspired gown by Joanne Fleming. It had a fabulous 1930s Hollywood Starlet look, finished with very pretty antique lace. Charlotte and Tristan have more than a slight thing for Minis and have been restoring an old one with the aim to using it for the wedding. Sadly, it wasn’t ready on time but a quick plea on the internet and a very kind lady volunteered to drive Charlotte and her Dad in hers.

After a quick but surprisingly emotional civil ceremony with just a few friends and close family, we had time to play around on the Grand staircase with Charlotte for some emotive movement shots. They then had a beautiful marriage blessing in the chapel with all of their guests. We discovered that these two have been sweethearts since they were 14 and have been through quite a lot together (cue the tears from Amy!) I was hoping for a sunset and right as the speeches finished, the sun was indeed creating magic. The very lovely Charlotte and Tristan were kind enough to skip their starters for some quick shots in an amazing light. I am hoping that one of these shots will make it onto their fireplace as a daily reminder of a very special and romantic day. I really do love this job!
