Food Photography / The Ginger Dog, Brighton

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

The Ginger group of restaurants in Sussex have just opened a new pub/ restaurant called The Ginger Dog in Brighton’s Kemptown. Pamela has designed the interior in their signature style of quirky laid-back elegance – The bowler hat lights above the bar will be quite a talking point! They manage to employ only the very lovliest people so the atmosphere is warm but of course the food is what makes them so popular. Ben produced some of the dishes on offer for the food photography and they all look sensational. After the shoot was over, we got to sample everything (its such a hard job!) and it was all very yummy but the star dish for me is probably the chocolate and raspberry trifle, although the parfait was also out of this world. It is always a pleasure to work with the McKellars as they are incredibly passionate about the business and it is very infectious. Its a great venue for a romantic meal, a family outing or party in the fabulous Private Dining Room on the first floor. All four of their venues can also host a wedding reception including their biggest, The Ginger Pig in Hove.

Children’s Portraits, Sussex / Sam, Louis & Dan

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly and Jason’s gorgeous three boys and had a lot of fun with them at their home. Sam could be a model and Louis thought I was cool as I had converse on similar to his and although little Dan was a bit tired, we got some great pictures of all of them. Kelly wants to fill a blank wall in their sussex home with either one big canvas or three smaller ones. Here are a selection with the colour vintage finish which works very well for family portraits.

Brighton Family Portrait Photography

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

It has been a busy year for family portrait photography and we have sourced some lovely books to use to present the results.T&L01 We are calling them Family Journals and aiming to record our lives now. A lot of my childhood memories form around photos and they record not just the people and the relationships but our environment and home life at that time. The car looks ancient and the colours of our house look crazy but that was my very favourite dress. The Family Journals are about recording what is significant to your family by spending time in your home and favourite place to have fun. That might be mixing up cakes or mud pies but for T&L02Bea it was crunching through autumn leaves in her best outfit with her very favourite bear with Mummy and Daddy.T&L03 www.devlinphotos.co.uk
