London Engagement Shoot

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

My second shoot with the Hasselblad H4D-50 and ‘Dream Kit’ from the Pro Centre as part of my Wedding Photographer of the Year Award. I saw some pictures of these two on Facebook dressed in big fluffy bunny suits at a fancy dress party and that sparked the idea for this quirky shoot. Tommy is the singer in the alternative rock band Slaves to Gravity and Katie is a gorgeous 50s chick so we were aiming for something a bit vintage and a bit dark. We shot a day in the life of them as this fantasy bunny couple and had a lot of fun. Well, it is the Year of the Rabbit! I will be showing the behind the scenes images too.

London Engagement Photography / Leslie & Benedict

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

This London couple are serious foodies and into their books so we decided to do their engagement photography on the South Bank in some of their favourite places. We started at Borough Market, which is amazing, can’t believe I have never been. It is food heaven and you can pretty much fill up by wandering round getting samples of everything from Thai curry to obscure cheeses. After a quick champagne cider, we stopped off at Tate Modern before hitting the book market on the South Bank. The light was gorgeous and before we finished, I persuaded Leslie to pop on some Minnie Mouse ears, well she is American! The wedding is in London in November and sounds as if it will be amazing and quite emotional. I’ve had a sneaky peek at the dress design by Brighton designer Joanne Fleming and it is gorgeous.

London Engagement Photography / Quynh & Hai

Friday, August 20th, 2010

This is the first part of Quynh and Hai’s engagement story. They are getting married in Vietnam in November with 700 guests over two days which sounds intense. They in London and wanted to use it as a location without being very obvious. Of course around rush hour in the capital, everywhere was pretty crowed but the very kind workmen let us onto the side of Tower Bridge that is closed so we had it all to ourselves. Despite the weather looking a little bit dubious the sun did come out in time for some romance in front of the Houses of Parliament and then we skipped off to Bond Street and found a lovely peaceful garden and this great warehouse door. I love the contrast in its colour against Quynh’s dress. I am looking forward to shooting the second part in Cambridge.

London Engagement Photography / Olivia & Mark

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

Not having stepped foot in London for a few years (what IS an Oyster card?) I arrived at Primrose Hill for Olivia and Mark’s e-shoot feeling like I was entering a film set. This area has been used as a location so many times that I was expecting Hugh Grant to appear. Indeed this couple do have some famous neighbours including Gwen & Gavin (whose house we sneaked some pics outside of -don’t tell them!) and Jamie & Jules. Originally from LA, Olivia and Mark are cool and quirky so I let them take me round some of their favourite places in the neighbourhood including the canal at Regents Park and the top of Primrose Hill. The posy was from Fitzroy’s. I love the shot of them kissing by the Banksy man and dog.
