Sussex Wedding Photographer / Hazel & James at Ashdown Park Hotel

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

There might have been quite a few rain showers but there was still a great atmosphere at Hazel and James’s wedding in the beautiful Ashdown Park Hotel in Sussex and it had little impact on the wedding photography. The dress from Browns Bridal collection was incredibly elegant as was Hazel’s specially commissioned pearl jewellery. Apart from the veil, she may well have been preparing for the Oscars as the look was 1930s screen siren meets modern laid back beauty. Hazel choose a pair of gorgeous Christian Laboutin sky high heels for the daytime and had a killer sparkly pair for the evening. Gemma, the bridesmaid was extremely lucky as she got to wear a stunning couture gown from the amazing Brighton designer Joanne Flemming

As the rain simply would not leave us alone, we used the grand covered entrance to the hotel for all the group shots and had a well timed dry spell for portraits of the bride and groom. For some unknown reason, their meal was brought forward by an hour so we had to work quickly but managed to squeeze in some elegant shots in a window seat. Their gorgeous cake was by the very talented Zoe Clark and there was a Beatles theme to the table decor. This is one of my favourite vintage inspired weddings to date.

Vintage Wedding Album

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

I know the sun is shining and little daffodils are bobbing in the breeze but today I am working on Maddie and Nick’s gorgeous winter wedding. They were lucky to have chosen a perfect day where the snow was sparkling on the ground but the sky was blue and the light was beautiful. They have chosen around 170 images to go in a Photobook and have opted for the Vintage finish. Maddie’s look on the day was classic vintage bridal and their stunning venue of Ashdown Park Hotel in Sussex looked like a perfect winter wonderland. I loved the flowers by Pollen as the berries gave them a winter feel but very luscious looking. One tip, if you are planning your winter wedding – don’t get married any later than 2pm. Maddie and Nick called me as they were thinking of a 4pm ceremony with candles, imagine if we had missed all this lovely light for the photography!

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Lucky Maddie and Nick had just a perfect winter wedding yesterday at Ashdown Park. ashdown-park02The snow made the hotel into a winter wonderland and the light was simply gorgeous. Amy and I loved Maddie’s dress from Leonie Claire and she was well prepared with a pair of moon boots so didn’t mind crunching through the snow for these exceptional portraits. They chose Pollen for their gorgeous flowers and had a stack of beautiful cupcakes from the Angel Food bakery in Brighton. and the day was very festive and fun. They gave their ushers and Best Man comedy Christmas jumpers as gifts ashdown-park01and we are looking forward to seeing their marryoke from Perfect Day Studios who did the video. www.devlinphotos.co.uk
