When planning this family photo session, I heard that Becky and Andy have an allotment in Brighton. So we all went up there for some digging, cups of tea, radishes and sunshine. Tabitha and Polly are great little gardeners and they love making mud pies and picking flowers. These allotments are not far from my house but are hidden from view. Once you go through a locked gate, it is a magical kingdom of secret pathways and butterflies with amazing views down to the sea. After picking some daisies, we made use of the evening sun for that lovely summer vintage feel.

What a lovely, sunny, giggle-filled afternoon than with my two favourite littlies? The smallest one has a tendency to explore, so we brought some vintage suitcases to represent her current wanderlust and the big one is obsessed with balloons. We had some left over from Rebecca and Pete’s anniversary shoot so took them up to Devil’s Dyke in Sussex for some fun in the afternoon sun. Happy Days

This week Clare and I did a mini project photographing her baby bump. She hasn’t got long to go now, so it was lovely to find the time to get these shots. I have been asked to do pregnancy photos a few times now and it is challenging to make them beautiful and unique. We both love this trio of shots.

Last Friday, I organised a charity fundraiser with my four year old at the nursery Growing Up Green. We called it Fancy Dress Friday and the kids made a great effort with their costumes. I spent a lovely afternoon photographing all the children and am now selling the images to raise some more money.
It is all for local families with diabetic children through the Brighton branch of Diabetes UK. Type 1 Diabetes in young children has risen dramatically in the last few years and it is not known exactly what triggers it. Initial symptoms can include a sudden thirst, thrush and dramatic weight loss. The charity is working hard on providing support for families affected and fun activities for the children to get involved in. I think that some of the money we have raised will go towards a spooky day out at Spring Barn Farm over Halloween. I am looking forward to carving pumpkins and dressing up so very many thanks to all the parents who have bought their photos.
