Family Photography Brighton

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

When planning this family photo session, I heard that Becky and Andy have an allotment in Brighton. So we all went up there for some digging, cups of tea, radishes and sunshine. Tabitha and Polly are great little gardeners and they love making mud pies and picking flowers. These allotments are not far from my house but are hidden from view. Once you go through a locked gate, it is a magical kingdom of secret pathways and butterflies with amazing views down to the sea. After picking some daisies, we made use of the evening sun for that lovely summer vintage feel.

Children’s Portrait Photographer Sussex

Friday, June 4th, 2010

What a lovely, sunny, giggle-filled afternoon than with my two favourite littlies? The smallest one has a tendency to explore, so we brought some vintage suitcases to represent her current wanderlust and the big one is obsessed with balloons. We had some left over from Rebecca and Pete’s anniversary shoot so took them up to Devil’s Dyke in Sussex for some fun in the afternoon sun. Happy Days :-)

Portrait Photography / Children’s portraits, Brighton

Monday, March 1st, 2010

At long last the sun is trying to shine and little flowers are pushing through to cheer us all up. So we took the little blond people to Preston Park in Brighton for some fresh air and to wear the puppy out. I took the opportunity to take some children’s portraits as Granny has been hinting that she wants canvas prints for Mother’s Day, no pressure then!

Children’s Portraits, Sussex / Sam, Louis & Dan

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly and Jason’s gorgeous three boys and had a lot of fun with them at their home. Sam could be a model and Louis thought I was cool as I had converse on similar to his and although little Dan was a bit tired, we got some great pictures of all of them. Kelly wants to fill a blank wall in their sussex home with either one big canvas or three smaller ones. Here are a selection with the colour vintage finish which works very well for family portraits.

Brighton Family Portrait Photography

It has been a busy year for family portrait photography and we have sourced some lovely books to use to present the results.T&L01 We are calling them Family Journals and aiming to record our lives now. A lot of my childhood memories form around photos and they record not just the people and the relationships but our environment and home life at that time. The car looks ancient and the colours of our house look crazy but that was my very favourite dress. The Family Journals are about recording what is significant to your family by spending time in your home and favourite place to have fun. That might be mixing up cakes or mud pies but for T&L02Bea it was crunching through autumn leaves in her best outfit with her very favourite bear with Mummy and Daddy.T&L03 www.devlinphotos.co.uk

Brighton Pregnancy Photos

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

This week Clare and I did a mini project photographing her baby bump. She hasn’t got long to go now, so it was lovely to find the time to get these shots. I have been asked to do pregnancy photos a few times now and it is challenging to make them beautiful and unique. We both love this trio of shots.

Children’s Portraits

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Last Friday, I organised a charity fundraiser with my four year old at the nursery Growing Up Green. We called it Fancy Dress Friday and the kids made a great effort with their costumes. I spent a lovely afternoon photographing all the children and am now selling the images to raise some more money. IMG_9411It is all for local families with diabetic children through the Brighton branch of Diabetes UK. Type 1 Diabetes in young children has risen dramatically in the last few years and it is not known exactly what triggers it. Initial symptoms can include a sudden thirst, thrush and dramatic weight loss. The charity is working hard on providing support for families affected and fun activities for the children to get involved in. I think that some of the money we have raised will go towards a spooky day out at Spring Barn Farm over Halloween. I am looking forward to carving pumpkins and dressing up so very many thanks to all the parents who have bought their photos.
