Commercial Photography Brighton

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

This week I have been very busy with commercial photography in and around Brighton. I love that my work is so varied and I get to go to some interesting places like this Victorian location house. It had been in one family since new and had been last decorated in the 1960s. We were there to shoot quirky furniture designs that had a retro influence and were very lucky with some great light.

Product Photography / Vintage Inspired Jewellery Shoot

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

This week we had a shoot for SuzyQ Bespoke Jewellery. It is all very lovely stuff and can be personalised with names and by choosing the charms and stones. It is quite girly but there are pieces in the collection for the boys like the scrabble tile silver cufflinks. My favourites are the charm necklaces with name tags and after several big hints, I managed to get one as a gift from the husband. Su wanted a vintage look to the shoot and Jayne who works with me very kindly let us pilfer through her house for props. Everything is available through Not on the High Street or directly from the designer.

Food Photography / The Ginger Dog, Brighton

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

The Ginger group of restaurants in Sussex have just opened a new pub/ restaurant called The Ginger Dog in Brighton’s Kemptown. Pamela has designed the interior in their signature style of quirky laid-back elegance – The bowler hat lights above the bar will be quite a talking point! They manage to employ only the very lovliest people so the atmosphere is warm but of course the food is what makes them so popular. Ben produced some of the dishes on offer for the food photography and they all look sensational. After the shoot was over, we got to sample everything (its such a hard job!) and it was all very yummy but the star dish for me is probably the chocolate and raspberry trifle, although the parfait was also out of this world. It is always a pleasure to work with the McKellars as they are incredibly passionate about the business and it is very infectious. Its a great venue for a romantic meal, a family outing or party in the fabulous Private Dining Room on the first floor. All four of their venues can also host a wedding reception including their biggest, The Ginger Pig in Hove.

Commercial Photography / Brighton Boutique Hotel

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

The very lovely Matt & Andy from The Twenty One in Brighton’s Kemptown got in touch recently to have their gorgeous Boutique Hotel photographed. They needed some new images to refresh their website but have been so booked up, it has taken over a year to find a day when enough rooms were empty. The boys are very relaxed and welcoming which obviously makes them great hosts as they have a lot of loyal clients. For me, it is great to shoot some interior photography after the challenges of wedding and portrait photography. If you need to find some chic rooms for guests in Brighton, have a look at their site The Twenty One.
