Engagement Shoot, Sussex

Monday, March 14th, 2011

Jenny and Ross wanted to do their engagement shoot by the lovely rural setting of the Jack and Jill windmills in Sussex. Jenny has a delightful horse at a nearby stable so we took him out for a little walk which seemed to confuse him no end! The wedding isn’t far off and I can’t wait as they are a fun couple. These images are processed with ‘Milkshake’ from our newest set of vintage Photoshop actions that will be available very soon.

Commercial Photography Brighton

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

This week I have been very busy with commercial photography in and around Brighton. I love that my work is so varied and I get to go to some interesting places like this Victorian location house. It had been in one family since new and had been last decorated in the 1960s. We were there to shoot quirky furniture designs that had a retro influence and were very lucky with some great light.

Brighton Engagement Photography

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

The very lovely Francesca & Charlie came down to Brighton for their engagement shoot and we wanted a slightly 60s look to the photography. So after stopping off at the fabulous Miss Mole’s Flower Emporium, we headed to the arches used in Quadrophenia and the beach near the pier. This shoot has been processed with Pistachio Haze from my new collection of vintage photoshop actions which are being tested now. Let me know what you think.

Vintage Wedding Photography Workshops

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

Having been a photographer for over 20 years and shot hundreds of weddings in the last decade, I have learned what works and what doesn’t in terms of marketing, technique and work-flow. I find it very inspiring to meet photographers and my ambition is to guide others to a successful business. Next in my series of workshops aimed at helping new or struggling photographers are two more dates.

Thursday 31st of March ~ Post Production on Vintage Wedding Photography.
If you don’t know where to start or want to refine your Post Production, this workshop will look at getting an efficient work-flow and using Photoshop to create vintage tones on your images. Between myself and my second photographer, we shoot on average 1800 raw files per wedding. I then spend a (long!) day doing the edit and post production. I do not profess to be the most technically minded photographer or Photoshop expert but I will share the techniques that work well for me.
