Brighton Wedding / Jackie & Sarah’s Civil Partnership at the Pavilion and Drakes

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Jackie and Sarah didn’t want to see each other until the ceremony so when we got to Drakes to start their wedding photography, Julie covered Jackie getting ready while I was in with Sarah. Their outfits had been made by Renaissance in Brighton so as they matched without the girls knowing exactly what the other was wearing. Both featured dramatic high collars and sparkly details that looked very glamorous as did the hair and make-up.

With the unexpected sunshine it was quite a fun journey to the Pavilion with all the guests on a vintage open top bus. After the ceremony we photographed the girls in the grounds, taking advantage of the scaffolding being removed to do some shots with the whole building in the background. I think the last time I was able to do that was about seven years ago! Back at Drakes, we couldn’t resist the delicious canapes but then persuaded Jackie and Sarah to go over to the beach for some photos with the winter sun setting behind the Palace Pier.

Brighton Wedding / Caroline & Anthony’s Wedding at The Old Market

Monday, November 10th, 2008

It is not easy to find a venue in Brighton & Hove that can accommodate more than 60 people but The Old Market in Hove had plenty of space for Caroline and Anthony’s 170 guests. As Caroline had her heart set on taking all guests to the beach for photos, we were disappointed to wake up to a very rainy day. Despite the weather, we found the bride in great spirits calmly getting ready in one of the artist’s dressing rooms. I soon lost count of all the little flowergirls and paige boys running about and they were all delighted to be given teddies to carry down the aisle instead of flowers. Caroline’s dress was a sample from Pronovias that was altered to fit and she looked extremely elegant with gorgeous jewellery that hinted at snow queen.

We managed to get most of the wedding photography done between showers but our luck ran out when we headed to the beach with the bride and groom. Clare and I were struggling to keep the cameras dry but Anthony and Caroline were great sports and we did get a shot of them with the West Pier in the background. When we got back to the Old Market, the guests sat down to a fantastic Thai menu at tables named after some of the amazing destinations that the couple have travelled to.

Queensberry Albums

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Well done to everyone who got their approved pictures back in time for the Queensberry deadline to get an album before Christmas. We have been incredibly busy designing the albums and ordering prints with a record number of albums in production. The new Duo design has been especially popular and we are looking forward to seeing some beautiful albums arrive over the next few weeks. We now have a new 7×5 parent album in stock which is only £150 and sweet little handbag book at £60 that is also being ordered as a present for bridesmaids. These can still be ordered in time for Christmas as can prints or canvas prints.

We have also designed a new 12 x12″ sample album with images printed to the edge of the page and no overlays. It features Leanne & Simon’s wedding so the cover is bright pink with their names embossed on it. It will look similar to digital books but have high quality images and be relatively cost effective.

If you are still intending to order an album, it is too late to guarantee getting it this year but Queensberry are not increasing their prices in the New Year.
